10 Things I No Longer Buy To Save More & Live Better
Hello, welcome back friends! In today's post, I'm going to be talking about 10 things that I stop buying or never bought in the first place in order to save money. This post is not meant to make you feel guilty or ashamed over the things that you buy or own. This is just something that works for me and do what works best for you and brings you a lot of joy. Let's jump into it.
- K Cups- I never realized how bad k cups are for the environment and I feel guilty because I have gone through many of them since I am a coffee lover! An alternative for this can be using reusable ones, you can get a super cheap pack of six through amazon.
- Fast Food Coffee- Some fast-food coffee sucks! Most of the time the coffee would just taste like water and it would be so disgusting. Save money by making coffee at home!
- Bottle Water- This is so bad for the environment and it's so expansive. Just fill up your water bottle. And the best part is free water.
- Pre-Package Food- I like to do a lot of cooking at home and it does not take that long, I'm a busy woman, I'm a full-time worker and I'm a part-time student too and I still manage to find time to make food for ourselves. Pre-package food can be expansive and not a healthy choice.
- Hair dye, extensions, etc- When it comes to my hair I have never dyed, I have never done anything except for cutting it 10 years ago. You can do a lot by switching things up. I just never felt the need to dye my hair or get hair extensions.
- Music Subscription- I use to have a subscription to Spotify but honesty the amount of time that I listen to music does not pay. You could be saving hundreds of dollars every year by listening to music through youtube or Spotify non-premium. (I don't mind ads)
- Duplicate Item- I don't need items that I already own. We don't need multiple of everything especially if you live in small houses. I try to own only what we use, only what we need and anything else we try not to spend our money on.
- Anything that doesn't have a place in your home- When I go thrifting this can be very hard but I go in with a mindset of not purchasing anything that won't have a place in my home. If I see an item that I love but can't think of where to use or how to use it in my home then I won't buy it. Again this can be so challenging since most of the time I really love an item but I try not to buy it.
- Special Event Clothing - I'm talking about bridesmaids dress that you only wear once a year or you have worn at a wedding and haven't worn it for that many years. Try renting which is cheaper and one least item to buy.
- Wired Bras- I have stopped using wired bras for such a long time, I just couldn't wear it every day, it was painful, it's not good for you circulation wise. I'm a huge fan of organic bras.
Thank you guys for reading and for being here! I hope you enjoy this content. I hope this made you reconsider some of the things that you do purchase. Again thanks and take care!
Forever, Josselin ❤
