DIY Dollar Tree Planter

Hello, welcome back! So today's post is going to be really fun because I'm going to do a DIY project from Dollar Tree or thrifted items. So I went to a Dollar Tree and I got two bowls and the rest of the stuff is what I had at home. I'm going to be turning them into super cute modern planters for your home and also how to makeover your thrifted vases. I only spent $3 on 2 different planters and they turned out so cute I'm so excited to show you how to make your own modern planters from dollar tree item. So let's get in with the first project.

I went to Dollar Tree and I found two bowls and that's all you really need for this project. It's so easy but the result is so cute! For this project, I'm making two different planters with this inverted style. The first one is using just a bowl and a cup from home or the Dollar Tree and I'm just flipping the cup over and putting the bowl on top and I'm going to give it a coat of spray paint to bring them together. I'm also going to use two bowls and put them on top of each other and I'm going to makeover my thrifted vase. I have decided to use a specific color of spray paint to make it look more like pottery.

You'll need:
  • Spray paint or paint
  • Bowls
  • Hot glue gun

Directions:

  1. The first step is to spray paint or paint the bowls in the color that you like. I used a beautiful terracotta spray paint and modern ivory white in satin.  What's nice about the spray paint is once you'll get it nice and covered it dries really quickly and it makes anything you spray look like matte terracotta pottery.
     2. Once I'm done spray all of the bowls, cup, and vase let it dry for 30 minutes before gluing the pieces together.

     3. Once it's dry, take everything inside and hot glue the tops to the bottoms. Make sure to use a lot of glue because these bowls are heavy so I want to make sure they didn't topple over.

     4. Lastly, let the glue dry and start using your beautiful planters.

And this is how both of the planters and vase turned out!I'm so happy with all of the pieces, they all turned out so good and cute. That all for today and I hope you enjoy this DIY project with me. I really enjoyed the process and I hope we can do many of these in the future. STAY INSPIRED!

Love, Josselin ❤
